What Exactly I Do
Doing everything makes you a jack of all trades, master of none.
Some say that content is King. I say that SEO just might be taking over the crown. Really, you can’t do one well without the other; they’re so interrelated. I claim this, of course, because that’s where my core competency lies – with SEO. In the Oklahoma City area, I’m the expert to call on if you need to get your website ranked higher and grow your sales on the web. I’m a simple man with a simple approach and I operate with full transparency. SEO is my main focus, so if you’re looking for someone to handle social media or build you an app, I’ll defer to a specialist in that area. I’m always glad to make a suggestion.
There are some new SEO tools for 2017 that I’d like to share. Contact me in your preferred manner:
My early years and how I got started.
They say that fruit falls close to the branch. That’s definitely true in terms of my love for programming. My parents home schooled us in the small town of Golden Valley, Arizona. (It lies about 45 minutes from Kingman and just about 2 hours from the gambling capital of the U.S., Las Vegas, Nevada.)
We had moved to Golden Valley because I couldn’t handle the weather in Washington State. Though the doctors weren’t sure at the time, I believe it had something to do with mold spores and humidity.
My parents passed on their knowledge of computer programming to me younger than most people learn, I suspect. At 12, I was writing my first program: a simple calculator, and was mastering GW Basic and other programming languages. This was only the beginning.
Where my love of being a nerd came from.
After my early successes, I couldn’t stop programming. As I grew up I tried to learn all of the ways I could apply by building my skills. I started with creating games and learning how to read code, then moved on to MySpace pages, and finally built a host of websites I used to make money through ads. I really had the bug, and I think it had something to do with my family. (I have two brothers who work in the tech industry as well).
In my 20’s, apparently my successes were being noted, as I was always getting requests from people to build sites for them after they had heard what I had accomplished. At the insistence of many, in 2007, I finally launched Joseph Stevenson, an Oklahoma City SEO company. Ever since then, I’ve focused on harnessing my programming powers for good, just like the heroes in the games I used to create. I create compelling, effective websites that get noticed.
I believe business should be earned, not expected.
There are quite a few Oklahoma City SEO companies that all claim they’re the best, and I’m sure they all think they are. (I admit, I’ve been known to voice that opinion of my own firm from time to time). One strength I’ve always held over my competition though is how straight-forward I am with my clients. A lot of Oklahoma City SEO businesses aren’t entirely honest all of the time. Unfortunately. I’ve witnessed companies trying to trap people into contracts, outsource work they didn’t have time for, and generally try to scoot by with as little effort as possible. I don’t operate like that. I’m not a middle man looking to make a quick buck. I’m a hard working programmer who knows what it takes to create good SEO and websites, and I will always be up front with my business practices, and in creating opportunities with people I work with. That’s a rare attitude to take in this business, but it’s better for both my reputation and for my clients. I want them to know that their money has been a great value short-term and long-term.
If you don’t do things right, don’t do them at all.
I’ll explain what I mean a bit better. I have a three-step process that I use for increasing site rankings. Other companies tend not to share this information with you because they don’t use these tried and true methods due to the time and effort it takes to do good work in this business. I don’t rely on search engine exploits or shortcuts for quick fixes that fall apart as fast as I build them. We complete high-quality work the first time, and use our superior coding and content to stand out in the search engines. Here are the steps:
1. Rewrite and re-code your current site so that search engines pick it up easier. This is a basic step that other SEO professionals often skip, but we want to ensure that after we put in the hard work to increase your website rank, your website and sales funnel operate efficiently.
2. Create eye-catching and engaging content that people will pick up and share on the Internet (such as blogs, media releases and social media posts). In turn, this creates the avalanche that gets your SEO rolling.
3. Continue Step 2 until the site is high-ranked and setting the standard for what every site in your field should strive to be. Your traction on the web must sustained.
My method is simple, effective, and honest. I don’t play my clients like some Oklahoma City SEO companies do. I rely on proven methods and wouldn’t have it any other way.
